Italian Giancarlo Fisichella was happy with the aerodynamic improvements introduced in his Jordan EJ12 for the Austrian Grand Prix despite a disappointing session in which he ended up in the gravel.
Jordan, along with British American Racing the only team yet to score a point his season, introduced a new front wing for the Honda-powered car, and Fisichella - 18th quickest today - was pleased with the handling of his machine using the new device.
"It was a good first session but then in the second one I made a little mistake at turn one and spun off," explained Fisichella, who missed most of the second session. "Everybody was struggling with grip today and it's easy to make errors.
"The new wing makes the handling better and we will run with that tomorrow. I've got a lot to do in the morning."
Fisichella's teammate Takuma Sato, driving at the A1-Ring circuit for the first time, finished as tenth fastest with the second Jordan.
