Fisichella attacks Schumacher Jr

Giancarlo Fisichella slammed Ralf Schumacher for blocking the field during the last-second scramble in qualifying for the European Grand Prix

The entire field took to the track with less than two minutes of the session remaining, in a desperate attempt to get a late lap in on the drying track surface.

Fisichella had been sixth for most of qualifying but was bumped down a place when Jarno Trulli improved on his final lap.

'Seventh is quite a good result but I am very angry at losing a position because of Ralf Schumacher,' said the Italian, who had a fiery relationship with Schumacher when they were team-mates at Jordan in 1997.

'He braked hard on the last corner and slowed me down so I didn't get past the chequered flag (in time) for my last flying lap.

'He didn't only ruin my last lap but there were two or three other cars behind us too.'

Both BARs were also caught out by Schumacher's move. Fisichella's team-mate Alex Wurz suffered mechanical problems in the morning session then slid off on his first run in qualifying. He will start 15th.
