Ferrari vow not to overreact

Ferrari have vowed not to overreact despite a series of disappointing results in the last three races

The Italian squad, who seemed to hold the upper hand over rivals McLaren until the Spanish Grand Prix, have been unable to match the British squad's performances in recent races.

The Maranello squad are now 35 points behind McLaren after three consecutive victories from their British rivals.

Ferrari's sporting director Stefano Domenicali has said, however, that the team's form will not result in any knee-jerk reactions.

"We don't have to over-react, we need to work, altogether, at home, on all parts of the car, at the track, with the drivers, all the team," said Domenicali.

"We were faster at the beginning of the season, McLaren is faster now and our objective is to go faster again and be faster than McLaren again, that's for sure.

"The message that we want to give is that we know that this is the moment that we need to react but we don't give up at all, the season is really very very long."

Domenicali believes Ferrari need to raise their game in qualifying in order to have be able to control the race.

"For sure, what is clear is that our main competitors have made a step forward, above all in qualifying, and as we know, qualifying is very crucial.

"So what we need to do is to keep on working, trying to understand the things that we did in the past, what we already have to be tested, for example next week in Silverstone.
