Dupasquier: Ferrari will not be Beaten Again

Michelin boss Pierre Dupasquier believes Ferrari can go through the remainder of the season undefeated after seeing the Italian giants claim another dominant one-two in last Sunday's European Grand Prix.

Michelin boss Pierre Dupasquier believes Ferrari can go through the remainder of the season undefeated after seeing the Italian giants claim another dominant one-two in last Sunday's European Grand Prix.

World Champion Michael Schumacher returned to the front after crashing out of the preceding race in Monaco and his team's performance proved that only unique circumstances can stop them.

Monaco and Hungary are the two places they could be knocked off their pedestal but when asked if Ferrari will be beaten any time in the rest of the year Dupasquier said: "No way, no way. Hungary could be, but we will see.

"Monaco is a very particular race where all the turns are low speed so the aerodynamics doesn't play much effect. That is why we could be successful there. Otherwise, they are so far ahead."

Michelin supply all of the four teams currently chasing Ferrari but they are already resigned to the fact that Renault, BAR, Williams and McLaren-Mercedes do not have the cars to fight the Italian giants.

BAR pair Japan's Takuma Sato and Briton Jenson Button and Renault's Italian Jarno Trulli and Spaniard Fernando Alonso continue to trade the 'best of the rest' tag behind the dominant scarlet cars.

In Germany last weekend it was BAR's turn to take the mantle but Schumacher broke away when the whole pack was held up behind Kimi Raikkonen's slow McLaren and they had no chance of competing.

And Dupasquier added: "If we could have raced here it could have been different - if Trulli and Sato could have stayed in contact - but so many laps behind Raikkonen at a very low pace meant it was finished."
