Dennis says no driver decision yet

McLaren team boss Ron Dennis says they have not yet decided on their line-up for the 2007 season, amid speculation that Kimi Raikkonen will be announced as a Ferrari driver this weekend

The British squad have yet to fill one of their seats, the other being occupied by world champion Fernando Alonso, who will leave Renault after this year.

GP2 championship leader Lewis Hamilton is the front-runner for the seat, with Dennis admitting on Friday he is under no illusions about Raikkonen's future.

The Briton says having Alonso is allowing them to consider their options calmly.

"We are clearly aware of where we are as regards our drive line-up," said Dennis. "We are very fortunate to have Fernando driving for us next year which gives us the option of choice as we have a dominant and competitive driver.

"We are under no illusions about how things will unfold with Kimi. So clearly he is an option but he is just that, he is an option.

"Along with Norbert (Haug) and Martin (Whitmarsh) we have avoided all talk about what role he (Hamilton) will play until after this weekend, he has a job to do which is to win the GP2 championship and when he has done we will look to the future.

"There are no decisions taken."
