De la Rosa on Top at Wet Barcelona - Morning Session

Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa continued to impress on the final day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, where the rain hampered the teams' progress this morning.

De la Rosa, who had skipped the Thursday session, today returned to work to post a quickest time of 1:29.046 at the wet Spanish circuit, finishing more than half a second ahead of Australian Grand Prix winner David Coulthard, who was again in action with the second Michelin-shod MP4-17D.

Frenchman Olivier Panis was third fastest as Toyota continued making progress towards solving the fuel pressure problem that hampered them both in Australia and Malaysia. Ralf Schumacher was fourth fastest after spinning off the track early in the morning with the Williams FW25.

Nick Heidfeld took over from teammate Heinz-Harald Frentzen in the only Sauber on track, while Jacques Villeneuve continued working with the BAR team. World Champion Michael Schumacher completed only four laps this morning with the Ferrari F2003-GA, finishing at the bottom of the times with an uncompetitive time.

Testing will continue in the afternoon.
