De la Rosa not worried about Paffett

De la Rosa returned to racing following Juan Pablo Montoya's decision to switch to NASCAR, the Spaniard finishing in seventh place in France last weekend.

Although the Spaniard is believed to have the seat guaranteed only for the German Grand Prix, he is confident of keeping it for the rest of the season.

There have been suggestions that Paffett, the team's second test driver and last year's DTM champion, could be given the chance to make his Grand Prix debut.

De la Rosa, however, is not worried about the British driver, and admits GP2 leader Lewis Hamilton looks like a bigger threat to his seat.

"British people are always trying to sell their product, and it's normal that they try (to get Paffett to race).

"But I have always been faster than Paffett under any circumstances and there is no real base for anything to happen," de la Rosa was quoted as saying by Marca newspaper.

"Brits have Button in crisis and they are trying to find a new star, but I'm staying calm because the reality is that Hamilton, and not Gary, is the biggest threat."

McLaren have made it clear they are not planning to rush Hamilton's Formula One debut despite his impressive GP2 season.
