Coulthard: plenty more to come from RBR
Scot David Coulthard says he is a happy man after extending his contract with Red Bull Racing for another year
"I am happy to continue and work with Red Bull," said the Scot, at 36 the oldest driver of the Formula One field.
"At the risk of repeating what I said before, it was a new challenge when I started there to see if I could lay my part in guiding the team from the driving seat.
"Christian (Horner) has been working on the recruiting side, this year the pace has improved and we would look to build on that for next year and the remainder of this season. My commitment to the team is 100 percent," added the Scot, who joined the team in 2005.
Coulthard, winner of 13 Grands Prix, scored the team's first points of the season in Spain, despite teammate Mark Webber having dominated him in qualifying.
Red Bull's team boss Christian Horner praised the performance of both drivers.
"We are in an evolution phase of Red Bull Racing and David's done a very good job for us in the three years that he's been with us," he said. "It was therefore entirely logical to extend that relationship for a further year.
"The team is still a young team, there have been a lot of changes in the last 24 months, it is coming together. We have had a poor reliability record, it is something that will improve in the second half of the year, and in David and Mark we have a very strong, professional and committed line-up.
"There is not a harder working line-up in F1 than we have, they contribute a great deal to our programme."
