Coulthard keeps open mind on chances

David Coulthard has said he is keeping an open mind about Red Bull Racing's chances for this weekend after a pretty disappointing opening day for the team

Although third driver Robert Doornbos was fourth quickest in second practice on Friday, Christian Klien could manage no better than 18th with Coulthard one place further back.

A philosophical Coulthard, who believes last year's podium near-miss is evidence of how well the team can go here, said: "I think we're likely to stay where we are for the next two races, but this time last year we really struggled on Friday in Germany and yet on Sunday we had one of our best races ever in terms of competitiveness.

"It wasn't just that we got fourth place, but we were actually within five or sixth tenths of the quickest time, so I've got an open mind ahead of the weekend. Although it's pretty difficult today, with track evolution and things like that, things will change. "

Klien added: "That wasn't exciting today.  We did some balance work this afternoon, but I'm still not happy.  There's potential in the car, but the balance is definitely something we'll have to think more about overnight. "
