Jenson Button has refuted suggestions that he is looking to move back to Williams next season and admitted that he is happy with his progress with Renault this year.
22-year old Button has bounced back strongly from a nightmare year at Benetton in 2001 with three points-scoring finishes in five races with the re-branded Enstone-based team, where he is on loan from Williams, with who he made his debut in 2000.
Despite constant speculation regarding his future, Button said that he was concentrating on the progress made with his current team and that any decisions would not be made until later in the year.
"It is interesting to read," Button said of the reports. "It makes my days off more interesting now, but it is so early in the season that it is crazy to be talking about things like that now. Nothing is going to be decided until later on in the season as it always is, so we just have to wait and see."
Button is reaping rich dividends with two fourth-placed finishes already this season after being criticised by team boss Flavio Briatore for his attitude last year. But the Briton has raised his game in 2002, and he is now very happy at the French team.
"I am very happy at the moment," he added. "Things are going very well, everyone is working very well together and I think it is very positive. The car is working a lot better than it was last season, and it keeps improving. It is a very good team to be with.
"Starting with them when they were at the back of the grid and being with them, now when we are in the top ten, it is a great feeling and all very positive for the future.
"Performances look a lot better because the car is a lot quicker obviously but I am doing the best job I can at the moment and I am very happy with it. I am very confident for the coming races."
