Button Hoping for Strong Season Finish

Briton Jenson Button has set himself a daunting target to finish the season as he bids to end a tough campaign with the Benetton-Renault team in the best possible fashion.

Button has scored only two points all season with Benetton, but wants to add another nine points to that total from the final races of the series in America and Japan in order to finish in seventh place in the drivers' standings.

"It would be nice to get nine points in the last few races," said Button. "People always seem to finish in Japan and hardly anyone falls out. It was probably my best race last season at Japan.

"We don't know how the car is going to work at Indy, anything could happen, we could have a good weekend or a bad weekend. But it is a good chance to do well."

A high-scoring finish to the season would keep the heat off Button, who has so far failed to vastly impress Benetton team boss Flavio Briatore.
