Button Glad to be Back in the Top Ten

Briton Jenson Button expressed his relief at finally returning to a top-ten qualifying position after he produced his best Saturday performance of the season at Indianapolis.

Briton Jenson Button expressed his relief at finally returning to a top-ten qualifying position after he produced his best Saturday performance of the season at Indianapolis.

Button has struggled with the Benetton team this season, but he improved by one place on his previous best - 11th in Italy two weeks ago - and now intends to enjoy a good race on Sunday.

"It's good to be in the top ten for the first time this year and for me that is fantastic," Button said. "I think it's a good position for us to start tomorrow. Hopefully we can do something at the start and hopefully do something at the first corner as well. But I hope to make it round it this time."

Button admitted that the Benetton-Renault package is now beginning to show the potential it has and said that he is putting pressure on himself to deliver results for the team.

"The car has improved a lot during the year and I think Renault and Benetton have done a fantastic job," he added. "It was a little difficult at the start of the season, but now everyone is working very hard and it is also very promising for next year.

"I've improved a lot also mechanically on the car and I feel it is all positive. The only pressure is on me from myself. I want to perform as well as possible. I want to do the best job I can and that's what I am going to do."

Teammate Giancarlo Fisichella finished the day in 12th position.
