Button gets first taste of new McLaren

World champion Jenson Button got a first taste of his new McLaren at Valencia in Spain on Wednesday, on the final day of this week's first pre-season Formula 1 test

The Briton, who joined the team from last year's champions Brawn GP, posed with his new MP4-25 shortly before the start of testing and took to the track soon after.

His run in the McLaren was not actually his first test for the team, though, having had a run at Silverstone at the end of 1999 as a prize for winning the McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award.

Button was not the only driver getting used to some new surroundings at Valencia. Former champion Fernando Alonso is having a first official test for Ferrari, having so far only done some laps for filming reasons at Paul Ricard at the end of last year.

Renault's new driver Vitaly Petrov has getting his first chance to drive F1 machinery as he took over the R30 from Robert Kubica, Nico Hulkenberg was having a first taste of the new Williams FW32, and Jaime Alguersuari was getting a run in the Toro Rosso STR5.
