Button frustrated by Honda's tyre problems
Jenson Button fears that he may have to live with his Honda Racing's tyre issues for some time yet, with his team appearing to have no answer to their problems at the moment
Even though the Briton's RA106 is quick over one lap, it appears unable to generate enough heat in its tyres during the races.
And a deeply disappointed Button, who could not turn his Australian Grand Prix pole position into a maiden victory, said he was frustrated by the situation.
"The issue with the tyre temperatures is outrageous," he said. "I have never seen anything like it. We have got no grip. Everyone is losing temperatures, but we haven't got grip - and we are running a soft tyre.
"The other teams are running a harder tyre than us and we are losing four seconds in the first three laps of the restart. It is something we cannot afford to be doing and it has been an issue for a little while now."
Button is returning to Europe for testing this week, where much of the focus will likely be on the tyre situation. However, he said he doubted whether the team would find a solution to the problem before the San Marino Grand Prix.
"I am going home tonight and I don't know if we can solve it," he said. "We are at Barcelona the week after and hopefully we can work together with Michelin to solve the problems.
"With our car, we need to change something but at the moment we don't know what."
