Button Delighted to Finish ahead of Montoya

Briton Jenson Button was happy with his fourth place at the Brazilian Grand Prix, and ever more so after finishing ahead of Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

Button drove for the Grove-based squad in the 2000 season, when he made his Formula One debut, but was forced to move to Benetton (now Renault) to make way for Colombian Montoya, then CART champion.

Button's fourth place in Sunday's race at Interlagos, finishing in front of Montoya, was a 'wonderful' feeling for the Briton.

"A big thank-you to the team," said Button, who had also finished fourth at the Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago. "It's wonderful to finish in front of one of the Williams. The car was a little tricky during the first stint, so we took off some front wing during my stop, and put on old tyres.

"After that the set-up was perfect, and the changes meant I could hold Montoya off at the end."

Jarno Trulli, Button's teammate, retired from the race when he was running in fifth place after a strong performance which saw him keeping McLaren's David Coulthard at bay for half the race.

"Obviously, I'm gutted," admitted Trulli. "I had a great start, and was lying fourth at the end of the first lap. I kept up a good pace in front of Coulthard, although both McLarens managed to get by during the pit-stops.

"After Raikkonen retired, I was comfortable in fourth place when the engine went. What can I say? A positive race; a negative result."
