Burti Wraps Up Monza Test

Brazilian Luciano Burti wrapped up on Thursday a three-day testing programme for the Ferrari team at the Monza circuit in Italy.

Brazilian Luciano Burti wrapped up on Thursday a three-day testing programme for the Ferrari team at the Monza circuit in Italy.

The test driver, working once more at the wheel of a revised F2001 chassis, concentrated on tyre testing in preparation for the Italian and Canadian Grands Prix, today completing a total of 86 laps.

Burti was forced to drive around a modified version of the track in the morning, but the provisional chicanes were removed in the afternoon.

"Over the course of three days, we have tested the tyres for the Grands Prix in Monza and Montreal and I can say I am satisfied with the work we have done as well as the development of the tyres," Burti said.

"After the first day, we changed the track layout to better replicate the conditions the tyres will experience at the Canadian track. That means we have picked up useful data for the Montreal circuit.

"We made the most of the conditions on the final day, testing intermediate tyres which will be used in the future. I am confident about our tyres for the race at Zeltweg and hope that Ferrari gets another good result in the next Grand Prix."
