Bridgestone Pleased with Saturday Result

The Japanese tyre manufacturer secured a front row lockout thanks to Ferrari drivers Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello, who topped the timesheets with the new F2003-GA car, introduced this weekend.
The World Champions, however, did not use the new tyre specification introduced by Bridgestone in Spain, deciding to stick with the tyre they had tested fully.
"I'm very pleased with today's result," said Suganuma. "Both the Ferraris have shown how competitive our tyres are in these hot conditions. We have three cars in the top five which is good news and I fully expect the Bridgestone runners to be up there in the race tomorrow. Jenson Button's performance was good to see today."
BAR driver Button and Sauber's Heinz-Harald Frentzen were the other Bridgestone runners to make it into the top ten, with the Briton finishing as fifth fastest and the German tenth.
