BMW hope to swiftly recruit new tester

BMW Sauber are expecting to make a swift decision about their 2008 test driver plans now that Timo Glock is poised to agree a race drive elsewhere

The Hinwil-based team wanted Glock to remain a test driver for them next year, but said they would not stand in his way if he secured a race drive.

And now that Glock is set to sort out a deal with either Williams or Toyota, BMW Sauber have said they will sort out a replacement for him imminently.

BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen said the team would meet with Glock after the Brazilian Grand Prix to sort out his future.

"We will sit down immediately after this weekend and I am confident we will have a decision then," he said.

When asked how hard the team were looking for a new test driver, Theissen said: "So far passively.

"We have been approached by several drivers or their management, but immediately after solving the issue with Timo we will look into this. We will certainly come to a quick conclusion as well."
