BAR Move Not an Option, Says Trulli

Italy's Jarno Trulli has no plans to join BAR if Jenson Button's proposed departure from the Formula One team goes ahead.

Italy's Jarno Trulli has no plans to join BAR if Jenson Button's proposed departure from the Formula One team goes ahead.

The Renault driver's name was added to a list of potential replacements for Button when the Briton announced last week he had signed a deal to rejoin Williams at the end of the season.

Trulli will leave Renault at the end of the year, having lost his seat to compatriot Giancarlo Fisichella, and is widely tipped to join Toyota.

The 30-year-old said on Sunday before the Hungary Grand Prix he was unlikely to join BAR if Button moves to Williams.

"I don't think so," Trulli said when asked if Button's departure would affect his future. Button is mired in a contractual dispute with BAR over his proposed move.

"I've been talking to a lot of teams. I can't say we have signed anything or have anything finalised but we are close. I think my future will be revealed in September."

Trulli, the only driver other than Ferrari's Michael Schumacher to win a race this season, would link up with Ralf Schumacher at Toyota if he signed a deal with the Japanese team.
