BAR completes Spanish tests
British American Racing test driver Anthony Davidson concluded a successful two days at Jerez in Spain yesterday (Friday), after a week of intense development for the team
Race drivers Jacques Villeneuve and Olivier Panis ran for four days in total at the Valencia track, while Davidson joined a second test team at Jerez for Thursday and Friday.
A number of problems stymied Villeneuve and Panis, but Davidson had a more productive time at Jerez. He completed 185 laps in total, posting a best time of 1m21.871s.
Panis bore the brunt of BAR's problems this week. He said: "We are putting a lot of hard work into developing the car and we have to expect some problems along the way. It is frustrating but we have to work through the problems to move forward. We now have to apply what we've learned for Monaco."
Villeneuve said that the team had carried out good set-up work for the Principality's streets at Valencia, despite the mechanical troubles.
