Autosport show to host first auction

An auction of modern and historic Grand Prix, GT, Rally and Sports cars during Autosport International 2000 at Birmingham's NEC in January, is to be held by the UK auctioneers, Coys of Kensington

Coys, specialists in fine historic cars, currently has a collection of more than 40 cars but is still actively seeking other F1 or F2, modern or historic Grand Prix cars, rally, sports and competition motor cars in addition to F1 and motorsport memorabilia from any period.

The cars available for auction are expected to range from restoration projects from £5,000 to ready-to-race, historic competition cars of up to £1m.

The auction is scheduled to take place in Hall 6 at 2pm on Saturday, January 15th and will last approximately one hour. Entry to the auction will be by catalogue, priced at £10 and on sale at the show, which admits two people.

This marks the first time show presenter Haymarket Exhibitions Ltd has held an auction within Autosport International.

For free valuation and advice, please contact Coys of Kensington at 2-4 Queens Gate Mews, London SW7 5QJ. Telephone: 0207 584 7444; Fax: 0207 584 2733 or e-mail auctions@coys-of-kensington.co.uk.

Further details will also be available on the official Coys of Kensington website at www.coys.co.uk.

Adult entry to Autosport International on Saturday or Sunday costs £12.50 (concessions £9.50, under-fives free).

Entry to the AUTOSPORT Thunderdrome, in association with British Eurosport, is £9 on the day, £6 in advance (entry is not recommended for under-fives).
