Andretti rules out early F1 move
Marco Andretti says that he would be keen to test for Honda's Formula One team again, but that he has no intention of switching to Grand Prix racing for at least two seasons
The 19-year-old American is contracted to drive for his father Michael Andretti's IndyCar Series team until the end of 2008, and plans to honour that commitment.
"Right now I'm just thinking totally I know where I am the next couple years and I'm completely content," Andretti said.
"I think I'd be cheating myself and the team even if one percent my mind would wander (and I thought) 'Maybe I should be doing this.'
"I'm not going to be able to achieve my goals."
But Andretti admitted that F1 was still a realistic option after 2008, and that he would welcome another invitation to test for Honda.
"I wouldn't count it out," he said when asked if he was planning a future in F1.
"Everything has to be right, the right circumstances and everything like that.
"But I can't thank Honda enough. If they need help in the future, I'll go over and drive the cars.
"I had a lot of fun. But I know where I am the next couple years."
