Alesi remains in frame for Jordan role

Jean Alesi could still be seen in action behind the wheel of a Jordan-Honda Formula 1 car next year, playing the role of test driver for the Silverstone-based team

The French-Sicilian remains in talks with team boss Eddie Jordan over a future position with the team, possibly as part of its management structure, for whom he contested five Grands Prix at the end of the season.

"We have a possibility to continue with Jordan," his manager Mario Miyakawa told Autosport.com. "We are discussing with Eddie about what Jean's role within the team could be. It really depends on that. Whether it's testing or whatever, Jean would be happy to do it, but we have to understand exactly what kind of role Eddie is offering."

Alesi is currently considering his options with the AMG Mercedes squad in next year's DTM, and is also waiting to see what Maserati might offer him with its upcoming sportscar programme.

He is expected to make a final decision on his future in the sport at the end of this month.
