Rampf proud despite end of BMW title hopes

Robert Kubica was unable to close down the 12-point deficit he had to title leader Lewis Hamilton to keep his hopes alive until Brazil, while BMW Sauber also lost ground to Ferrari and McLaren in the constructors' championship.

But although that means the end of their dreams for another year, Rampf has said that there is no disappointment about dropping out of the championship fight.

"Not at all," he told . "For sure it is very nice to fight for the championship and still have the possibility for the championship, but overall we are still competing with the two cars in front.

"We will do our best in Brazil and I am looking forward to it. We should not be disappointed for what we have achieved this year."

Rampf also praised the efforts of Kubica this season, who has impressed with his consistency and lack of mistakes.

"He did a great job, really a great job," explained Rampf. "He has not made any mistakes, he is very consistent in his driving and he is also very clever - especially when it comes to the race starts.

"Then also during the race he is sometimes asking questions - it is something when a driver has enough time and mental capacity to think about things. He is a very quick driver and also a very intelligent driver."
