Raikkonen targets Hungary podium
Finn Kimi Raikkonen is looking to keep his momentum going and finish on the podium again at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix
The McLaren driver ended his Hockenheim jinx last Sunday, finishing in third place after starting from pole position for the first time this season. In five starts at the German Grand Prix, the Finn had retired five times.
Raikkonen admitted he was happy with the progress of the team in Germany, and is now looking to put on another strong performance in Hungary.
"The MP4-21 was definitely quicker in Germany than the previous race, and it had great balance," said Raikkonen. "We have made a step forward and I am looking forward to getting back out on track again this weekend and racing for another podium finish."
Teammate Pedro de la Rosa, who retired from the German race, is hoping to bounce back this weekend.
"Of course for me it was a disappointing end to the race at Hockenheim, but the car felt really good and with the strategy I was running we could have been just behind Kimi at the end of the race," he said.
"We get to race again already this weekend and hopefully I will be able to make the most of the pace we have found with the package."
