Williams duo get upgraded car for Canada

Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg will get their hands on a heavily upgraded Williams for this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix as the team bid to put the disappointment of Silverstone behind them

Although Webber had been challenging for victory at Monaco, the aerodynamic inefficiencies of the FW28 left him and his German teammate struggling for pace over the recent British Grand Prix weekend.

However, after some encouraging results from testing at Monza last week the team are planning what technical director Sam Michael has called a 'full' car upgrade for Montreal.

The revamp includes revisions to the front and rear wings, winglets, the nose and diffuser. Engine supplier Cosworth are also introducing their Series 4 engine for the first time.

Webber has said that the team should set their sights on a two-car finish in Montreal to try and increase their haul of constructors' championship points.

"The circuit requires a completely different aerodynamic package to the ones we've used for the first part of the season, which means a low to medium downforce level to help our top speeds," he said.

"It also means we could see a slight change in performance from some teams as it's a fresh opportunity to find pace. I'm certainly hoping it'll provide us with a chance to improve our performance in the right direction.

"Traditionally, Montreal is heavy on brakes and that's why we were testing in Monza last week. It's also a circuit that rewards good horsepower from the engine, so that should be a positive for us. We certainly need both Williams' in the points at Montreal."

Rosberg added: "We should be stronger there than we were at Silverstone and we have the potential to score some points."
