Grapevine: Priaulx to drive at British GP
Reigning World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx is going to get his first taste of 2006 Formula One machinery at June's British Grand Prix
However, rather than completing any mileage on the famous Northamptonshire circuit, Priaulx will instead demonstrate the BMW Sauber F106 at the German manufacturer's Pit Lane Park. He will also demonstrate the car at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Priaulx, who drives for BMW in the WTCC, has tested for Williams in the past and although is looking forward to more demo runs he would welcome some more serious mileage.
"I've done Goodwood before for Williams in the ex-Keke Rosberg car and I'm looking forward to driving the BMW up the hill," Priaulx told autosport.com, "but I'm hoping I can get some serious testing mileage and a serious run in the car soon.
"You never know in Formula One - it is such a large picture and I'm always in the frame. If the phone rang I wouldn't be surprised. But if it doesn't ring I won't be surprised either.
"The Pit Lane Park is great and looks like a stadium. For the fans to get close to a Formula One car like that it is going to be a lot of fun."
