De Ferran praises Button's attitude

Honda Racing sporting director Gil de Ferran has praised Jenson Button's approach in trying to help turnaround his team's disappointing start to the campaign

Button flew to Honda's Brackley headquarters for a 'motivational' meeting on Monday in a bid to address the workforce and keep spirits up as they try to improve the RA106's race pace.

Despite starting in the top three on the grid at every race so far this season, Button has had just one podium finish to his name - which was third place in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Those results are not what the team had expected coming into the year, but senior management are convinced they can get on top of the issues soon.

And de Ferran believes that Button's role in helping the team will be crucial - as he moved to applaud the British driver's attitude at the factory on Monday and in working with the team during Silverstone testing this week.

"Jenson is a true professional in every sense," de Ferran told autosport.com. "He in inspiring everyone and he is leading the team.

"Of course he was disappointed at Imola but he knows he could not stay disappointed, so he has forgotten the weekend and moved on. He is good like that and he is truly leading the team."
