50 year fever!

It is fifty years since the first Grand Prix took place on the 13th May at Silverstone and it is somewhat fitting that an unprecedented line-up of stars should be set to return to the infamous circuit to celebrate the anniversary at the Coys International Historic Festival

A selection of cars and drivers from every decade of Formula 1 will be on display creating a fine array of talent and machinery alike. With everything from Tony Brooks' 1955 Connaught to Jody Scheckter's Championship winning Ferrari 312 T4, visitors will have plenty to get their pulses racing.

On track action will include the Autosport 50th F1 Celebration Parade, when Messers Mansell, Watson, Stewart, Moss and Gonzalez will lap Britain's home of motor racing, each recalling their own era.

Fans outside of F1 will also be catered for with rally stars, Markku Alen in a Lancia 037 and Stiq Blomqvist behind the wheel of an Audi Sport Quattro.
With the tones of Walker and skills of Watson and co, the day is set to both ooze nostalgia and also toast to another fifty years.

To help commemorate its own fiftieth anniversary, Autosport is publishing a 366 page 50 year supplement, looking back on the last half a century of Autosport and will be available from 13th July.
