Ralf Rules Out Podium Finish

Ralf Schumacher feels confident his Toyota team can enjoy a strong weekend in Hungary, but the German has ruled out fighting for the podium

Toyota had a very promising practice on Friday, with third driver Ricardo Zonta finishing on top of the times.

Schumacher was fifth quickest while Italian Jarno Trulli finished down in fourth place as the Japanese squad benefited from the high temperatures to shine.

Schumacher was pleased with his first day of work but admitted a place outside of the podium is the best he can hope for on Sunday.

"Everyone always tries to get as much downforce as possible at the Hungaroring, so like other teams we have a special aero package here," said Schumacher. "It should stay nice and hot throughout the weekend, and that usually seems to suit us.

"So we will be targeting another decent points position, somewhere between fourth and sixth."

Trulli was also satisfied with his day's work despite the poor grip on the track.

"We had a decent day of practice and made it through our programme of set-up work and tyre evaluation without any problems," said Trulli. "I had a brief spin in the second session, but that is quite normal here because it is very dusty off the racing line and you quickly lose grip.

"Hopefully we can maintain strong pace throughout the weekend."
