Button Rues Time Lost Behind Schumacher
Jenson Button believes that he had not been able to show his full potential during his run to third in the German Grand Prix after getting stuck behind Michael Schumacher for much of the race
Button had got beaten through the first corner by Schumacher, who had swept wide across the run-off area, and then spent much of the afternoon chasing down the Ferrari.
Eventually Button snatched what would be third place with a brave move at the hairpin on lap 45 - but by then he had lost too much time to be able to hold off Juan Pablo Montoya, who jumped him for second at the final pit-stops.
"It was a good race and a lot of fun," said Button. "It was nice to battle with someone. Michael got in front of me when he drove wide at the first turn and even after my first pitstop I was stuck behind him.
"I finally got past him at the hairpin and then disappeared until my pitstop a few laps later. Maybe we could have done more if we had not got stuck behind him."
