Trulli Reveals Engine Concerns

Toyota driver Jarno Trulli has revealed he is concerned about his engine's performance for next week's Monaco Grand Prix

Despite scoring his third podium of the season at the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, the Italian driver suffered from a lack of power from his Toyota engine, a problem he said he began to notice during the final qualifying session.

Trulli will use the same engine at the Monaco Grand Prix next week, and although the Montecarlo circuit will not stress the engine as much as Barcelona, the Italian admits he is concerned about it.

"Even though the engine counts less in Monaco than here, it counts all the same," Trulli, third in Spain ahead of teammate Ralf Schumacher, said.

"My engine was not too strong [in Barcelona] and my speeds were not as good as Ralf's everywhere, but it was not a big problem in terms of reliability."

Toyota, currently in second place in the Constructors' Championship will introduce a revised aerodynamic package for the race at the Principality, and Trulli is confident the team will be stronger there.

"For Monaco we'll have a completely new aerodynamic package in my car to take away all the doubts - all aero parts will be new," he said.
