Mosley: Suzuka race example of problem

The president of motorsport governing body, the FIA, questioned who would have been bothered in Europe to get up early on Sunday morning to watch the Suzuka race in the wake of Schumacher's easy run to pole position.

"The thing is that, for example, Suzuka could have turned out to be a very exciting race, but you would probably have been reluctant to get up at 6am to watch a race where Michael's on pole by three-quarters of a second, effectively," said Mosley.

"I shall be interested to see what the TV audience figures are."

Mosley attended the Japanese GP to guage reaction first-hand to the nine FIA proposals put forward last week. He and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone will meet with the teams at the next F1 Commission meeting at the end of this month to discuss the rule changes.

Although some of the proposals, like drivers racing every car on the grid throughout a season, are too radical to appear realistic, Mosley is determined to push through as many changes as possible.
