Betting: Cheer on the Italian stallions!
Bookmaker Paddy Power is offering a refund on all losing outright bets at Monza this weekend if an Italian driver (ie: Fisichella or Trulli) finishes on the podium. The maximum refund is £200 per customer/bet and applies only to bets struck before the start of qualifying
There is nothing too special for Ferrari fans to get excited about, unless you figure that with Michael's 10th win in the bag, the Scuderia will play to Rubens Barrichello, who is 10-3 for pole, 2-1 for the win and 8-1 for a one-man show (both).
Barrichello is predicting a closer battle at Monza and there are some very good odds elsewhere. Juan Montoya took his only Grand Prix win thus far in last year's race and is 15-2 for a repeat. Williams-BMW team mate Ralf Schumacher is 10-1.
They are 8-1 and 10-1 respectively to claim the fastest lap which, if the weather is hot and plays to Michelin's strengths, could be worth a punt. Pole position specialist Montoya, meanwhile, is 9-2 for a Monza ace with Schumacher Jr 9-1.
Monza is about grunt and traction out of the chicanes. McLaren-Mercedes has clearly made progress in the power stakes recently and odds of 20-1 on Kimi Raikkonen look very generous, especially as an each-way bet.
The Finn is also 14-1 to set the fastest lap if you fancy a long shot. Kimi for a straight podium is available at 7-2, with David Coulthard at 10-3.
