Arrows 'will survive' missing Hungary
Arrows team boss Tom Walkinshaw has told this week's AUTOSPORT magazine that he sees no reason why his outfit will face sanctions from the sport's governing body, the FIA, for missing this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix
Walkinshaw says that the future of the financially troubled team should be sorted soon, and that this takes priority over attempting to race this weekend. If Arrows missed a race through insolvency, it would immediately be thrown out of the championship.
"I had hoped to have this matter finalised before Hungary, but the best thing is to sit down and get it sorted," he told AUTOSPORT.
He has been in talks with former British American Racing chief Craig Pollock to buy the team. Pollock has backing from the US, but the discussions are said to have hit trouble recently. Two other deals are said to be on the table.
Walkinshaw will claim force majeure for his team's no-show in Hungary, but the FIA is waiting until the weekend before it will take any action against Arrows, which could include a hefty fine.
