Schuey wants to end season on a high
Michael Schumacher has pledged to regain his form in the final Grand Prix of the season at Suzuka in Japan this weekend, and will do everything in his power to help Ferrari team mate Rubens Barrichello grab second place in the world championship
The four-time world champion has been subdued in the last two Grands Prix, most notably at Monza which occurred in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks in America which he has admitted had a great affect on him.
"There is no doubt we are out to win again in Suzuka," said Schumacher. "There is still a small chance that we can get Rubens into second place in the world championship. We will be trying everything humanly possible.
"Suzuka is one of the tracks that I really like, one of the tracks which suits us and which should be favourable to our tyres. In my opinion, we are well prepared. I am therefore optimistic," he added.
Schumacher has denied that Ferrari will use the season finale to debut parts destined for next year's challenger.
"There's no question of that," he said. "There are still too many compromise solutions necessary to complete the full race distance."
