DC leads the congratulations
Defeated title challenger David Coulthard led the congratulations as Michael Schumacher moved into the history books with his fourth world title in Hungary.
He shook the German's hand seconds after he got out of the car and then playfully poured water on the new champion as they cooled down in the sweltering heat.
Later, he joked that the Ferrari ace should go on holiday for four races to celebrate.
"Today is all about Michael's win," he said. "I congratulate him on that achievement and recommend that he takes a holiday for the last four Grands Prix...
"I drove to the maximum today, but I did not have a car as quick. There was no way to compete with Michael once the start was gone and even then it is doubtful if I could.
"There is no question no matter how you pick it apart that Michael deserves the championship," he added. "He has been consistently fast and made good use of what he had - and hasn't made any mistakes.
"You can't take that away from him or Ferrari. They have performed. We just go back to the drawing board."
