Autosport Podcast: F1 Turkish GP review

Lewis Hamilton's stunning charge to victory in the wet Turkish Grand Prix saw him capture his seventh Formula 1 world drivers' title in style

After Mercedes appeared off the pace at the resurfaced and slippery Istanbul Park track, the British driver produced arguably one of his greatest wet-weather drives to take his 10th win of the season and with it the drivers' crown.

Meanwhile, Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas endured a nightmare Turkish GP, spinning six times in total during the race, to finish down in 14th place and provide no challenge to Hamilton in trying to keep the title fight going into the final three races.

Racing Point's Lance Stroll had the very definition of a race of two halves as he impressively led the opening stages only to come unstuck after a second pitstop for intermediate tyres to drop through the order to finish in ninth place.

His team-mate Sergio Perez profited by holding off Ferrari pair Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc to take second place, while the German driver also claimed his first podium of the season as Leclerc lost out in a final-lap tussle.

PLUS: How Hamilton's critical changes decided a Turkish GP "that wasn't his race to win"

Focus once again turned to Hamilton's F1 future with his expected new Mercedes deal potentially set to be delayed until after the season.

Autosport's Grand Prix editor Alex Kalinauckas is joined by Jonathan Noble, Luke Smith and Stuart Codling to assess a thrilling Turkish GP, in which Hamilton secured his historic seventh F1 drivers' title, as well all the major talking points in a wet and slippery race.
