Italian GP: Webber says Vettel's rapid lap was a one-off

Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber insisted not much should be read into Vettel's time-topping pace in Italian Grand Prix practice

Vettel ended Friday six tenths clear of the rest of the field, with Webber next up in a Red Bull one-two.

Webber acknowledged that the indications were very encouraging, but described Vettel's crushing 1m24.453s time as an anomaly.

"The car is certainly is not bad shape," said Webber. "We just want to get a better package out of what we have got.

"We need to work harder on short and long runs. Seb had one lap there that was well clear of everybody, which you can do sometimes.

"But at Spa we were very strong on Friday but we were not strong in P3 when it was dry - everyone arrived on the back of us."

Vettel agreed that there was room to do better.

"It was a good day, but it is still only a Friday," he said.

"It looks tight, we saw that in first practice. If you look at it too much it can be a distraction, but I think it will be a close qualifying with many cars up there.

"Even though the car was great, there were still some corners today where you slide more than you like.

"Tomorrow I expect it to be close; it is a short-ish lap and there are not too many corners so not that much you can do right, and not that much you can do wrong."
