Russell is on a flying lap now too. He's just come through the mega Turn 8, his head buried into the right side of his cockpit to cope with the g-force through there.
Alonso goes seventh on that lap, 0.881s off Leclerc.
Alonso, Latifi, Stroll, Russell and Vettel are all back out on track now. Alonso heads for a lap on soft rubber.
Most drivers have returned to their garages as the first 15 minutes of the session have ticked by. Leclerc leads Hamilton, Bottas, Norris, Perez, Sainz, Verstappen, Gasly, Ricciardo and Raikkonen.
A replay shows Sainz having a big lock-up into Turn 1 a few moments ago. Maybe he can get some braking advice from home hero and master of the stoppie Toprak Razgatlioglu!
The helicopter shots of this track really show off just how much of a rollercoaster it is. And to think, we've been going to places like Sochi all these years instead of here. Madness.

"Front tyres not working," Hamilton tells his team. Not an easy start to the afternoon for the Mercedes driver.

Verstappen reporting "I'm getting some weird snaps now mid-corner". He goes back up to fifth on that lap.
But Leclerc streaks clear on that lap by 0.883s with a 1m24.102s. That lap came on the mediums.
Perez now back on top of the pile with a 1m24.9s.
The Williams driver had a spin at the Turn 9 left-hander but has managed to get going again.
Yellow flag
Latifi has gone off in the second sector.
First glimpse of Verstappen in this session. He's out on mediums at the moment in his Red Bull - sporting its super sexy white livery. He's fifth quickest.
Leclerc now fastest with a 1m25.021s, displacing Bottas by 0.178s.

"I have no front," Hamilton says to his crew chief. Presumably he means front downforce. A quick adjustment and he's back out again.
After five minutes Perez leads Alonso, Latifi, Verstappen and Norris. A mix of tyres out on track too, so everyone's doing their own thing.

"What a disaster," complained Alonso a few moments ago when he came upon that aforementioned traffic in the final sector.
But that's immediately bettered by Sergio Perez with a 1m25.278s.
Sainz goes top with a 1m25.819s on soft tyres.
The final sector has become something of a traffic jam as everyone looks for a bit of clear space to start their laps.
Pretty much everyone has headed out for a look at the track at the start of FP2.
Green flag
The light at the end of pitlane is green. FP2 is underway.
The F1 music is playing, so we must be five minutes away from FP2... that, or I need a better playlist!
The big news coming into this afternoon is of course Hamilton's 10-place grid penalty for the race for a partial power unit change.
Straight away comments on the grip levels were positive in FP1, with Hamilton's track record certainly proving the work carried out was well done.
The Istanbul circuit has recently been water-blasted to improve grip after problems on the new asphalt laid for last year's race.
Championship leader Lewis Hamilton topped FP1 with a 1m24.178s - a new track record - while title rival Max Verstappen was 0.425s adrift in second.
The one-hour FP2 session will get going in just over 10 minutes' time. Conditions are perfect, so we should get to see some decent long running this afternoon.
It won't be the last time we say it this weekend, but it's absolutely fantastic to be back at Istanbul Park.
Good afternoon and welcome back to live text coverage of Friday practice for the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix!
The Turkish GP weekend continues with FP2 scheduled for 1300 BST.
George Russell just missed out on the Top 10 in P11, while Italian GP winner Ricciardo was 1.5s shy of Hamilton.
Lando Norris was the top McLaren in P7 ahead of the AlphaTauri of Pierre Gasly. Red Bull's Sergio Perez rounded out the top 10.
Alpine enjoyed a strong FP1 throughout with Esteban Ocon P6 and Fernando Alonso P9.
Valtteri Bottas ends the session in P4, 0.6s adrift. Ferrari has two cars in the top five with Carlos Sainz fifth.
Cars are pulling up for practice starts now.
Hamilton heads Red Bull's Max Verstappen by 0.4s while Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
Hamilton tops the times for Mercedes in FP1 with a 1m24.178s (softs). A new track record.
