And that's all from us! We'll be back again next weekend for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil - so, please join us again then!
Lewis Hamilton: second in the Mexico City GP: "Firstly, look at this crowd. We have to acknowledge them, and a huge congratulations to Kimi and the Mercedes team, they're all here celebrating his success. I'm so grateful to be in the race to witness it.
"I think we had the pace to win it today, but it wasn't meant to be. We'll take it offline and figure out what we can do in the background.
"In drivers' briefing, we decided if you went off at Turn 1 you have to give the place back. Last year I got 10 seconds for the same thing he did, but ultimately which lost us the win today. I think we have to have some serious talks behind the scenes. But the team is working behind the scenes, we were on the old engine today, but good result and good points. Some you win, some you lose.:"
Max Verstappen, Mexico City GP winner: It was very hectic out there today, the first start made the race for me. I had a very good first lap, let's say it like that. After that we had a bit of a different strategy. I do think we lacked a bit of pace, but we just hung in there, made the right calls at the right time, the penalty of Charles put us in the lead. And I was sweating at the end to keep Lewis behind.
"It's such a big run into Turn 1, and you have to pick your braking point especially with a big bump there.
"It's incredible, what a season [Kimi] had. To do that at such an age is really impressive. I'm sure this is a very emotional day with him."
Kimi Antonelli, 2026 F1 champion: "We did it. We did it, and we wouldn't have done it without Mercedes, without my family. I'm very grateful for this moment, and one I will live forever. I'm speechless, and trying to process what happened!
"It's been an incredible season, and to share this podium with Max and Lewis is truly incredible.
"This weekend, I did feel a bit more tense, but I'm just so happy we got it done. Now we can enjoy the rest of the season."
Antonelli gets big hugs from his team, Toto Wolff, and George Russell, who've come to the stadium to join in with the celebrations.
There he is: Kimi Antonelli is your new champion.
"Thank you so much, we did it," Antonelli says, tearfully.
"It's a pleasure to be on the journey with you, but it's just the first chapter," Bono says.
Antonelli parks up at his world champion board - and what a place to do it! The Foro Sol, the mariachi version of the F1 theme, and an immediate hug from Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and his father Marco.
Max Verstappen wins the Mexico City Grand Prix...
...and Kimi Antonelli has done it! He clinches the 2026 world championship, with third place.
"Get in there Kimi!" Pete Bonnington says. "Champion of the world!"
Antonelli is lost for words at the moment.
Final lap. Verstappen has plenty of margin into Turn 1, and he's survived that onslaught from Hamilton.
Leclerc forces Norris to the outside into the first corner, and this precipitates an amazing battle with the two - but Leclerc STILL hangs on...
Verstappen starts the lap 0.8s clear of Hamilton, who has just one more chance at the lead as the two remain line astern at Turn 1.
Norris has a lunge at Leclerc, who goes deep into Turn 1 and just about comes up for air with fourth place still in his grasp. Norris tries the switchback, but the Ferrari traction is still too strong.
And that was a very quick yellow - three laps to go, and Hamilton is sniffing at Verstappen's gearbox once again as he's hoping for something to go his way in the final stages.
Lawson and Gasly have had a moment noted for potential contact at Turn 4. We'll see how that shakes out.
Verstappen has more of a lead into Turn 1 this time, as Hamilton pulls out of the Red Bull's wake slightly to cool the car.
Leclerc holds firm too, just getting the stronger traction out of Turn 3 to hold fourth place.
Yellow flag for a spot of debris somewhere.
Hamilton looked very close to Verstappen into Turn 1 there, but just lacked the final tenth or two to mount a pass. Likewise for Norris with Leclerc, and Russell's lurking behind hoping to buy into this.
Piastri is managing to hang onto seventh over Colapinto, but he's leading a bit of a train with Lawson and Gasly just behind.
Leclerc has a moment at Turn 4 and got out of the corner at glacial pace, which brings Norris very close. It's getting more difficult for the Ferrari driver.
The Piastri-Lindblad incident will be investigated after the race.
Another lap, another scenario where Verstappen just outlasts Hamilton's battery energy on the main straight. Antonelli's stuck with them however - maybe he sees a win on the table here.
The Piastri-Lindblad incident has been placed under investigation by the stewards.
Verstappen continues to hold out in the lead, but Hamilton is trying to stay in touch. Antonelli is just doing his thing in third place, ahead of Leclerc, Norris, and Russell.
Piastri, with that damage, might be susceptible to a move from Colapinto or Lawson before long.
Hamilton's gone with him, but he's too far behind to make a move on Verstappen as he runs out of acceleration. Gasly's gone onto the grass, but hands the ill-gotten places back - and allows Lawson to slip through to take ninth.
Leclerc's got Norris for company again, but can he continue to hang on?
Safety car will come in at the end of this lap. Verstappen will presumably bolt out of the stadium here to stay ahead...
...and indeed, he does exactly that.
It's as you were in the top six, Piastri now up to seventh, Colapinto, Gasly, and now Lawson in the top 10.
"I think I'm seeing the cord of the tyre," Leclerc reports. But Norris knows that...
Hulkenberg appears to have served his penalty, and he and Perez are now behind Hirakawa.
Ah, it was contact with Piastri that did for Lindblad there. Piastri was trying to come through on the outside of Turn 1, becoming the inside for Turn 2, but Lindblad then hooked his rear tyre against the front tyre of Piastri and ended up going into the wall.
A shame for him there. Not quite sure how to call that one. "A reasonable amount of damage," Piastri is told as he's lost a bargeboard.
Lindblad's come to a stop, and that's a safety car! He was running in seventh place, but he's just lost a hatful of points for Racing Bulls there.
Norris is still trying to work his way past Leclerc, but he's just not getting close enough at the end of either straight.
"In our photos, Leclerc has a flat spot down to the canvas," Will Joseph tells Norris. "Well I know that, I can see it!" Norris replies. And it's a very big flat-spot, but Leclerc's working with it for now.
Verstappen is just doing what he needs to do: sit 1.2s clear of Hamilton, leave the Ferrari with dirty air to work around, and stay out in front.
No further investigation for Sainz, and that potential pre-start movement.
Norris is trying to goad Leclerc into an error, but the Monegasque remains resolute. Russell is sitting behind them, ready to pick up any pieces.
Lindblad is running seventh with Piastri stuck behind him. Colapinto and Gasly complete the current top 10, but Lawson's closing down the Alpine pair.
"The engine braking is just changing completely," Verstappen reports. He's still 1.2s behind.
Sainz is also being looked at for potentially jumping the start. Lots for the stewards to work through.
Perez is having a good battle with Hadjar over 14th, but the Red Bull eventually gets past. Hulkenberg now claims a place over Perez, who's coming back at him.
Hamilton is told that he doesn't have any damage, so he's free to press on. Leclerc, meanwhile, is still nursing that flat spot and trying to keep Norris at bay. It's not hurting the Ferrari driver too much at the moment.
Verstappen is 1.2s clear of Hamilton, who's 1.3s clear of Antonelli. Leclerc still has Norris for company again, despite the Briton's off at Turn 14 on the previous lap.
Hulkenberg did just ram Bearman off the track at Turn 4 on the restart, hence the penalty.
Hamilton has dropped out of overtake range, as Norris now takes a look at Leclerc again - this time looking at the outside of Turn 1 but can't make it work.
He puts the Ferrari on the defensive into Turn 4 too, but Norris still can't pass.
Antonelli is keeping a watching vigil on the top two.
Hamilton tucked out of Verstappen's wake, but just to get some cool air through the car. Norris was close to Leclerc at Turn 1, but the Ferrari just stayed ahead.
Hulkenberg has a 10-second penalty for knocking Bearman out of the race.
Verstappen gets a no-further-investigation for his start.
Verstappen is just about doing enough to stall Hamilton out here, finding an extra couple of tenths to stop Hamilton getting the draft into Turn 1.
But, Verstappen has been noted for being out of position at the restart. Need the plot thicken any more?
Leclerc's struggling with his flat spotted tyre now, and Norris is right on his tail.
Hamilton has overtake, but doesn't quite have the chance to make the move at the start of this lap. Leclerc has Norris and Russell behind angling for fourth place.
Bearman is out of this race - hopefully we'll see why, but Hulkenberg has been noted for an incident.
Antonelli puts a move on Leclerc, and dives past at Turn 1 to claim third place! Norris tries to follow through into the next clutch of corners, but Leclerc holds on.
We might have missed contact between the top two in that first corner, and Hamilton is pushing Verstappen all the way here.
Verstappen is just about managing to shake off Hamilton, as Leclerc has Antonelli right on his tail. The leader wants a check of his sidepod...
The Mexico City GP is go...again!
And we begin again! Verstappen gets a very good start, and Hamilton draws ahead of Leclerc!
Leclerc sits third now, as the Ferrari locks up but stays on-track, as Antonelli hangs onto fourth place despite a scare from Norris.
So, the pitlane reopens and Verstappen leads the field out.
Remember, we've got the order from the lap before the Bottas crash - so Verstappen, Leclerc, Hamilton, Antonelli, Norris, Russell, Piastri, Lindblad, Colapinto, and Gasly is your top 10 order.
It's still not entirely clear why, but there we go. Standing start confirmed.
No word on the genre of start we'll get just yet, but the lapped runners will be given a chance to go early and catch up to the back.
Indeed, they do now leave the pitlane.
Five minutes to go until we get started again. 25 laps remaining as it stands.
Perez has got a five-second penalty for speeding in the pitlane.
Perez has been noted for speeding in the pitlane - Cadillac used the red flag to check his car and make sure they were satisfied he wouldn't have the same issue as Bottas.
Good for him - except the penalty part, obviously - and Mexican fans, who've turned up en masse to watch their F1 hero return to the field for this season.
The race will resume in 12 minutes' time, at a quarter to the hour.
So this is why we're waiting - the cars are being shuffled into the new order, Antonelli behind Hamilton, Gasly back up into 10th place, and anyone else who's been moved about.
