Albon with a very strong first sector, 0.2s up on Bottas - who has pitted.
Inevitably, there's a queue of cars lining up at the entry to Parabolica.
Everybody running the soft tyres at the end of the session for their final run before qualifying. Among them is Hamilton, clearly not satisfied with his current P4.
In fact it was 2012, a front-row lock out for Hamilton and Jenson Button. We're back underway meanwhile with a little under three minutes to go.
Great effort from Norris up in P2. We'll see if we can find the last time a McLaren started on the front row at Monza.
Everybody back in the pits now, but a few drivers are remaining in their cars for the time being. Doesn't look too likely that the session will be resumed in time though.
"If anything, this delta time is more dangerous on the charge lap. On the outlap is good, but on the charge lap it makes no sense," Leclerc reports.
Just when it was all looking so good for Renault too. Ricciardo is P3 in this session - not sure that will be enough to get Cyril Abiteboul to the tattoo parlour though.
With 8 minutes to go, the red flags are waved to allow recovery teams to access the stricken Renault.
Sounded like he had no gears exiting the second chicane, the car cruising in neutral.
"I have an issue", he says redundantly over the radio. Engine is switched off.
After that brilliant lap, Ricciardo has stopped on track approaching the first Lesmo.
More movement at the top of the charts now, as Norris moves to second and Ricciardo to third, each three tenths off Bottas. Both drivers are on softs.
Leclerc shoots up to fifth, but he's still 0.8s off Bottas' pace. Vettel also improves, moving to 10th.
The Ferraris are now out on soft tyres, with Vettel giving Leclerc a tow around.
Part of that deficit will be down to the fact Hamilton's soft tyres had an extra lap's worth of wear on them. Even at a track like Monza, which is mostly straights, that will still add up in the traction zones exiting the chicanes.
Now Hamilton moves up to second, but still 0.35s behind Bottas.
Hamilton has a big moment on the exit of the first chicane so doesn't improve on that lap.
Bottas was absolutely on the edge at Parabolica with his right wheels flirting with the white line on corner exit. Will that lap stand?
Purple middle and final sector for Bottas and he goes three tenths clear of Verstappen in top spot on a 1m20.089s.
Bottas and Hamilton now both come out on a fresh set of softs. We've got around 17 minutes to go in the session, now will we see what the Mercedes have in their locker without 'party mode'?
In the top 10 currently we have: one Red Bull, two Mercedes, two Renault, two Racing Point, two AlphaTauri and one McLaren.
Ferrari-watch: Leclerc is currently 1.3s off the pace in P13, with Vettel P17 ahead only of Raikkonen, Giovinazzi and Latifi. Tough to take for the tifosi.
Albon had gone fifth quickest, but his best laptime was deleted for exceeding track limits at the Parabolica. That's becoming quite the theme this weekend.
Albon is still only 11th quickest in the second Red Bull, 0.9s down on Verstappen - whose best lap came on his second effort.
Verstappen then is the current pace-setter for Red Bull, his Honda power unit clearly lacking nothing to the Mercedes. His best effort so far is 0.166s faster than Bottas on the softs.
As Verstappen goes top on mediums, replays show Vettel having to jam on the anchors in the pits as Perez blusters out of his garage in the Racing Point.
The Finn now goes top by 0.036s from Hamilton - curiously, he's never started from the front row at Monza, with third in 2014 (for Williams) and last year his best efforts to date.
Impressively, Ocon's time was also set on medium compound tyres. Bottas has just gone out on a set of softs.
Verstappen completes a flying lap on mediums and moves up to fourth, behind only the Mercedes pair and Ocon's Renault.
A 1m20.658s was Hamilton's time, for the record. His FP2 benchmark was a 1m20.192s.
Oh dear, Leclerc rather impedes Norris at the Parabolica there. Might be hearing about that in the stewards room later.
Now the other Renault of Daniel Ricciardo moves to the top of the standings, only to be immediately displaced by the Mercedes of Hamilton and Bottas.
Vettel is unable to dislodge Sainz, lapping 0.66s slower, and is promptly beaten by Leclerc and Ocon's Renault.
Both Ferraris are using the soft tyres, likewise the two Alfa Romeos.
