Bottas comes up for another bite at Leclerc, and dispatches him more cleanly at the start of Lap 34 into Turn 1.

All of that has seen Ocon move up to P10 ahead of Latifi, Kubica and Vettel.

Bottas then charges past Leclerc at the opening chicane, leaving Leclerc out of road. The Ferrari driver gives up P4, but somehow gets it back with a good run into the next chicane!
And at the second chicane Schumacher clashes with Haas team-mate Mazepin, which pushes the German into a spin. Those two really don't like each other.
Perez and Leclerc are fighting hard over third - the Mexican leaps over the chicane and takes the place, so he'll have to give it back.

On lap 32 the midfield is still yet to settle down as Schumacher bumps into his good friend Vettel at the first chicane, pushing the Aston Martin driver over the sausage kerb.

Bottas now shapes up a move on Sainz into the chicane, making it up into fifth.
Norris dives down the inside of Leclerc, but can't make it past at the opening chicane - but cruises past at Curva Grande, after touching the grass!

Both cars have been cleared from the gravel trap so the return to racing won't be far away.

With one eye on the rest of this race, everyone has pitted under this safety car, while Vettel pitted for a second time in this race. Bottas in P6 has the fastest car and is on the fastest tyre, the mediums, with everyone ahead of him on the hards.

So naturally, the Verstappen/Hamilton incident is under investigation.
Let's go through it again, Hamilton tried to cover Verstappen out of the pits, and the Dutchman was left to hit the kerb, gets airborne and clouts the rollhoop and halo of Hamilton's car.
Leclerc's benefitted massively from that, conducting his stop under the safety car to now sit in second. Perez moves up to fourth, behind Norris in third.
Verstappen's car is wedged on top of Hamilton's car - and Hamilton is told to switch off the car.
Safety car deployed! That is the most bizarre crash ever!
Hamilton and Verstappen coalesce into the first chicane - and they've taken each other out! They're stuck in the gravel, and they're OUT!
Hamilton now pits, collecting medium tyres, with a slight delay - which lets Norris through...BUT
Norris now comes in, collecting hards for himself as Sainz is now cleared by Riciardo. Norris rejoins ahead of Verstappen as a result of the slow Red Bull stop.
Hamilton meanwhile dispatches Norris at the second chicane, compounding Verstappen's misery! The Mercedes driver tracked him through Curva Grande and got him at Variante della Roggia.
Verstappen now follows up with a stop, complaining that his tyres are done. It's a VERY slow stop for Verstappen, 11s left in the box!
Presumably, Verstappen was told to do whatever Ricciardo didn't, and stayed out.

At the start of lap 22 Bottas is up to eighth place, diving up the inside of Stroll at the first chicane. He's now got a six-second gap to Sainz ahead of him.

"Okay, definitely Plan A" says Ricciardo. He pits at the end of lap 22, collecting the hard tyre.
Verstappen went far too deep into the Turn 1 chicane at the start of lap 21, losing about 0.4s to Ricciardo in the process as he clattered over the kerbs.
Ocon has been given a five-second time penalty for that earlier clash with Vettel.
"Your pace is super strong, you are matching the leaders," Bottas is told over his Mercedes team radio. Given he's on the hard tyres, could he factor in the fight at the front later on?
Verstappen reports his rears are sliding, which is now keeping him out of Ricciardo's DRS range. Hamilton is also over a second behind Norris.
Bottas is up to P9 now having got by Alonso and next on his radar is Stroll. That's impressive work by the Mercedes driver in just 18 laps.
"I might as well have taken myself off," Vettel remarks over his Aston Martin team radio. He was given nowhere to go by Ocon despite being alongside the Alpine.
Leclerc is no longer homing in on Norris and Hamilton. This is no longer podracing.

Vettel isn't having a nice time of things. After a close shave with Stroll earlier, he has just been biffed by Ocon as he was squeezed to the outside braking for the second chicane. That's already under investigation with the stewards.

Leclerc has homed in on Norris and Hamilton now, so he's coming into play slowly.
"So far I'd say Plan A, Plan A at the moment," Ricciardo says. Norris is on "Plan A, with Plan B laps". McLaren seems to have its plans sorted...
And just like, Bottas gets another one. The Mercedes driver dives up the inside of Latifi in the braking zone for the first chicane. That's P10 for the Finn.
