Summary

Hamilton beats Bottas for seventh Hungarian GP pole with a new track record, Racing Point locks out second row
Mercedes and Racing Point get both cars through to Q3 on Medium tyres, Gasly's car hindered by power unit problems
Ricciardo, Russell, Albon, Ocon and Latifi knocked out in Q2
Magnussen, Kvyat, Grosjean, Giovinazzi and Raikkonen knocked out in Q1
Status: Stopped
Stroll: "Very happy at the moment. The car was strong all the way through qualifying - the whole weekend, really. It's just about piecing all together. [The mediums] were a gamble but it's put us in a good position for tomorrow."
Bottas: "Yeah, I saw in FP3 it would be close with Lewis, at least. We seem to be on another level, pretty far ahead of the others. My laps were okay but I couldn't really go faster."
"I have to pinch myself, it doesn't register. It's quite humbling because I work with an incredible bunch of people." says Hamilton, on being told it's his 90th pole. "Valtteri doesn't make it easy for me and it takes perfection to do laps like that."
Qualifying in the top 3 is a rarity for Stroll, so much so he forgot to park his Pink Panther in the right place.
Anyone who says "it's a Mercedes 1-2-3-4" needs to come up with a new joke.
It's a Mercedes 1-2, a Racing Point 3-4, and a Ferrari 5-6.
Top 10 order: 1. Hamilton, 2. Bottas, 3. Stroll, 4. Perez, 5. Vettel, 6. Leclerc, 7. Verstappen, 8. Norris, 9. Sainz, 10. Gasly.
That's Lewis Hamilton's second pole of the year - with a track-record lap.
It's a 1m13.447s for Hamilton! Phwoar - Bottas gets within a hundredth of a second, but it's not quite enough to take pole from the six-time champ!
Okay, purple sector 2 for Hamilton.
Hamilton's first sector is a belter, but it's not a personal best. But Bottas' isn't quicker...
"Lost a bit at Turn 1 because there was a bit of drizzle on the track", Vettel reports.
Perez slots into P4, just under two-tenths shy of Stroll there!
Stroll cuts the arrears to Hamilton, doing a 1m14.377s.
Vettel puts his Ferrari in a provisional fourth, then, with a 1m14.7s. Leclerc follows him into P5.
"That's it for us, right?" Verstappen enquires. He might have a slight issue here, with worried faces in the Red Bull garage.
Vettel and Leclerc immediately go on track, electing to make the most of the clear track.
Now, here comes the lull. Data, tyre life and run plans are being pored through before a final set of laps.
Vettel and Leclerc sit P7 and P8, albeit over a second-and-a-half down on Hamilton's rather stunning laptime.
Perez's lap wasn't a banger either, having gone over the jagged turn 4 kerb to lose his time.
Verstappen jumps into 4th, with Norris and Sainz just behind. Perez gets track-limitsed and loses his P6 time.
But Hamilton does a 1m13.613s to go a second faster than Stroll! Bottas pops in a 13.9s time to slot into P2.
First up: a 1m14.671s for Stroll.
There's flashes of purple on the timing boards as the first laptimes come in...
Once more, everyone apart from Gasly is immediately on-track.
Q3 is underway! Let's go a-qualifyin'.
From one West Country force to another, Norris put in a good lap to split the Ferraris in Q2, despite suggesting McLaren might struggle this weekend.
While we wait, back on the Yeovil news. Strong team to take to the field against Barnet: top scorers Murphy and Duffus are in the first XI, with magicman Albi Skendi joining Lee, Worthington and Hippolyte in the midfield.
For the first time this year, there's two Ferraris in Q3. Now, did anyone think we'd be saying that? No?
"Sorry guys, but I told you don't put me in traffic", Albon says.
Eliminated from Q2: Ricciardo, Russell, Albon, Ocon, Latifi.
Relief at Racing Point, as Perez evades the drop zone as track conditions didn't improve for the field.
Hamilton had two scorching opening sectors, but backs off.
Leclerc fires himself up to P3, then, but Perez might be rescued by the drop zone dwellers not going much quicker...
Perez can't improve!
The latter, it seems, as Perez does a dreadful first sector.
Stroll, too, is on mediums. This could either be genius or a big mistake...
Perez persists with the medium tyres - another gamble for Racing Point.
The mid-Q2 deadlock is broken, and the Hungaroring plays host to a gaggle of cars all looking to make the difference.
