The Bahrain Grand Prix has been reinstated for this year, with a slight twist: the race will be held in Malaysia.

Indeed, the Sepang circuit is back on the menu, but the event will still be known as the Bahrain Grand Prix since they're underwriting the whole operation.

The race will take place between the Azerbaijan and Singapore races, creating just a short hop between the final two legs of the now triple-header.

Qualifying recap

Lando Norris took his first pole of the year, and the first non-Mercedes pole of 2026, to beat the Ferraris.

Lewis Hamilton had originally qualified second, having been beaten by Norris by just 0.012s, but took a grid penalty for impeding Oscar Piastri. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli was also given a grid penalty for failing to slow sufficiently for yellow flags.
