F1 Dutch GP live commentary and updates - race

It's 1.6s between Antonelli and Norris now, although it's ebbing and flowing with traffic. 

Leclerc is within two seconds of Russell, with Hamilton also staying in touch with his team-mate. 

Norris loses a second to Antonelli as Alonso cut across the McLaren on the pit exit, as the leading pair comes into contact with the traffic. Albon is now in Norris' path, and the Briton gets past at the start of the next lap. 

Hamilton gets very close at the end of the lap, sticks with Piastri into Turn 1, and follows Leclerc through Piastri! Ferrari is unshackled, and Russell is next up on track. 

Piastri is trying to reclaim the place, but Hamilton holds the defensive line into Turn 7 and bats away the McLaren's challenge. 

Leclerc has a look, around the outside - and Piastri bleeds off the brakes to take the outside line and force Leclerc to the outside of the next corner. 

But Leclerc preserves the momentum, and squeaks ahead through Turn 3 as Piastri is forced to take the low line. Leclerc up to fourth! 

Piastri is holding his boost button into Turn 1 to keep Leclerc at bay, and the Ferrari driver will be hoping that he can force Piastri to over-consume energy before Turn 14.

Antonelli has Norris in overtake range, but he's holding the McLaren driver off for the time being. Snap for Norris in Turn 13, costing time at the end of this lap.

Leclerc has another bite at the cherry here, picks his deployment, but just runs out of track to make an overtake possible.

It's difficult to work with this first corner, as the defending driver can make use of a defensive line much sooner than, say, Hungary. 

Leclerc is right on Piastri's tail now, but he's not quite able to get the run out of Turn 14. Ferrari is like a caged beast here - lots of pace, but it feels like they've spent their weekend stuck behind other cars. 

Antonelli is 1.0s ahead of Norris, so perhaps the McLaren driver might be able to come back here - but I think Colapinto being traffic has helped the McLaren's cause. 

Hulkenberg has cleared Sainz and moves up to ninth. 

Gasly couldn't make the move on Lindblad, and that just leaves him completely open to a forceful pass from Tsunoda at Turn 7 - the Japanese driver pulls it off with style. 

...and Hulkenberg produces a moment of magic as he rounds Lindblad around the outside of Turn 1 and holds a firm defensive line as the Briton tries to come back at him. It was a very nice move. 

Gasly's getting frustrated by the yet-to-stop Lindblad, who in turn is being held up by Sainz. The Frenchman has a run on the inside at Turn 11, but snatches a brake as he tries to find a way into the chicane.

Hulkenberg gets past Gasly, and then makes a charge on Lindblad at the end of the lap...

Hamilton pits, drops the slicks and gets the hard tyre. 2.6-second stop, which is a "normal" stop. Clear air between him and Leclerc, with lots of space ahead of Lawson. 

Lawson clears Albon now and gets back into seventh place. It's as you were, then; Hamilton reports the "tyres are okay" so he'll continue to build some off-set out in front.

Hulkenberg all over Gasly through Turn 11, but the Alpine driver defends. Sainz might be doing a bit of hold-up play here, which could theoretically help Albon. 

So Antonelli is 1.4s clear of Norris, who is 3.1s clear of Russell, who has Piastri in his wake. Leclerc rejoins in sixth, 5.6s behind the Australian.

Lawson moves past Alonso, who's yet to stop, as is seventh-placed Albon. 

Piastri does need to keep in touch with Russell, if he's to build a good gap ahead of the Ferrari pair. 

Indeed, Antonelli, Norris, and Leclerc are pitting. All three have slow get-aways, and Lawson doesn't exactly get a vintage stop either. Everyone plus-three seconds, which isn't what you expect in modern F1. 

Piastri was well clear of Russell, but the slow stop really hurt him there. So, Russell has a net third for the time being. 

That might change the race a little bit for Norris. 

So Leclerc will be able to fill the gap behind Piastri now, as Russell clears Hulkenberg for ninth. 

"It doesn't change our race yet," Norris is told, as Piastri ends up with a very slow stop - and Russell retakes the place. McLaren slow in the stops again! 

Leclerc was incredibly close to Russell at the start of the lap, but missing that final little bit to make a move for fourth place. 

Russell duly pits, which I think has caught everyone off-guard here - he takes the hard tyre, but he'll come out behind Hulkenberg. 

Alonso is very close to Ocon and looking to make a move for 12th place - but how much grunt has that improved Honda engine got? Not enough to close the gap down the straight...

"I'm pace zero, I've got nothing else," Norris reports. Again, the papaya cars are not enjoying particularly stellar race pace, although Piastri's doing okay on the hard tyre.

Leclerc gets very close to Russell at the start of the lap, but he's not able to find enough of a tow/overtake advantage to mount a challenge for fifth place.

"Consider original plan A," Russell says, as he hopes for something that'll get the Ferraris off his tail. 

The movers and shakers in the midfield: Hulkenberg and Tsunoda have graduated into the points, while Albon - on the hard tyre - is 11th and staving off Ocon. 

Bortoleto did a stop for new mediums a moment ago, and both Lindblad and Colapinto have indeed served their penalties. We have clarity. 

Antonelli continues to extend the gap at the front from Norris, as Piastri is out of Russell's grasp for the time being. 

Bortoleto and Bearman have been pinged for leaving the pit exit under a red light, after that moment earlier. 

Antonelli is 1.2s clear of Norris now, and Leclerc is keeping Russell very honest. The Briton is reporting that he doesn't have a good balance with his car.

Hamilton is sticking with Leclerc, as the Ferraris have dropped seventh-placed Lawson. 

Norris is falling away from Antonelli a little bit, as he tries to cling onto the overtake range. I think he'll rue that start. 

Colapinto serves his penalty - maybe I was right the first time, and Lindblad has done his. F1's timing tower was confusing, but it's no longer showing the outstanding penalties. 

Colapinto has also been awarded a drive-through penalty. My mistake - Lindblad has not served his penalty, and did a tyre stop, so they've both got to serve something for their yellow-flag incidents.

"Class half rain in a few minutes' time", Norris is told, which is 'not much' in F1 speak.

Norris is still within Antonelli's overtake range, but he needs to make use of those softs as soon as possible. 

Replay of Piastri's move on Russell, which was absolutely sublime. 

Lindblad has a drive-through penalty, which he serves immediately.

Leclerc is still all over Russell, aiming to claim fourth place here. Piastri isn't pulling away on the hard tyre, which is allowing Hamilton to get in on this. Lawson might be able to join in too. 

The rear-guard is taking its time a bit, isn't it? Everyone seems to be in the right place this time...

Extra formation lap - so that'll save the front runners a little bit after losing a ton of tyre temperature by waiting on the grid. Norris is doing a quick formation lap to build that tyre temp. 

That said, I think there were a few drivers in the wrong position on the grid. 

The drivers at the back have only just been released from the pit lane, as they were shown a red light incorrectly. Bizarre. 

Bearman's stopped on-track. "My engine broke, everything turned off". This is probably going to be an aborted start...

Bortoleto had lost a hatful of places at the start of the race, falling to 13th (briefly 14th) behind the two Racing Bulls and the two Alpines. 

The Audi launches off the grid still appear to be a bit difficult.

Ocon was going to be investigated for passing under the yellow flag, but I think it's fine as he's being shuffled back a place. The order is as you were at the end of lap one, I believe. 

Lindblad and Colapinto are being looked into, however. 

Resumption order is as you are, except Ocon will be put back behind Albon. Albon thus moves back into 13th place. 

"What Esteban did is crazy, he's overtaking in the middle of a crash," Albon complains over the radio.

Hulkenberg was a wafer away from making contact with the spinning Bortoleto; he picked left and the reflexes were absolutely inch-perfect. 

Gasly seems to be getting a new front wing in the pit lane. The Frenchman made up a place on Bortoleto at the start, and now sits ninth. 

Lawson and Gasly took incredible evasive action in the impact; Lawson had to keep it absolutely pinned to avoid Verstappen, and Gasly had to back off.

Bortoleto did indeed have his own spin, did a full 360, and then kept it going. Lucky boy, lots of positions lost but he fights another day. 

We are officially on the third lap now.

We get a start replay, Russell was slow off the line and Piastri tried to pass - but yeah, as we said, got boxed in and Leclerc managed to steam through. 

Verstappen got guided onto the grass by Hamilton at the start, and Lawson tried an audacious move around the outside of his team-mate at Turn 3. Hamilton, in turn was trying to evade contact with a fast-starting Leclerc.
