The losers in this interruption as so far McLaren. Piastri is now P10 and Norris P11. Behind the leaders, Magnussen, Bottas, Ocon and Piastri complete the points positions.
After all that, both Ferraris on mediums didn't pit so move up to fourth and fifth and neither did the trio who started on the hards - so Perez is sixth, Magnussen is seventh and Bottas is eighth.
Russell reports his steering is "a bit bent" but he's able to continue.
The safety car has fallen perfectly for Magnussen - the Haas driver stopping one lap before the intervention and climbing to P7. With Hulkenberg in P15, at least the team retains its top 10 representation.
Russell returns to the track in P19 with a new front wing and fresh tyres. It would be something of a miracle if he is able to continue!
TV replays catch Russell's smack with the wall. He drifts over the kerb through Turn 8 which sends him sliding into the barrier on the exit of Turn 9. He makes it to the pits for fresh tyres, a new front wing and repairs.
The safety car causes most drivers that had yet to stop to complete a trip through the pits. The exception? The Ferrari drivers, who climb to P4/5!
That's triggered everyone into the pits, Verstappen has a clean stop, but on the exit Alonso and Hamilton almost collide.
Russell has hit the wall! The safety car has been deployed!
Norris progresses past Hulkenberg to move up to P7 as the Haas driver pulls into the pits. The German drops to P15.

In P17, De Vries has seen his most recent time deleted after the Dutchman took a trip through the runoff.
At the end of lap five Verstappen leads by 1.8s from Hamilton, who has Alonso bearing down on him.

Alonso takes a hit with his rear-right wheel at the exit of Turn 4. His Aston Martin is running OK but that won’t help his cause chasing Hamilton.

It had been expected that Leclerc, Sainz and Perez would speed through the pack. So far, Leclerc is the only one of the trio to have made any progress.
