Following Friday’s mixed conditions, all eyes will be on the weather to see how it will impact Saturday’s action.

Ricciardo up to fourth ahead of Tsunoda, but both drop a place as Russell goes fastest for Mercedes.

Sainz is next across the line and goes second as Stroll slots in only eighth for Aston Martin.

Make that 10th as Alonso and Leclerc take turns to go second.

A flier from Piastri as he sets a 1m12.462s to go fastest.

Verstappen slots into second, six-tenths down but on used tyres.

Not quite in the 1m12s to start then as Hamilton goes top with a 1:13.104s.

Russell is second, Magnussen third and Norris fourth.

These laps could be vital and Russell is straight on it from the front of the snake. Hamilton is faster in the middle sector though.

Q2 is underway! Will the rain fall heavy enough to affect the running?

Verstappen is within inches of hitting the McLaren in front of him as he emerges from the pits. It's Piastri's car that has just missed contact.

After a short lull, we have a queue at the end of the pits for the start of Q2, with Mercedes at the front.

But up the top it was Verstappen, who headed Tsunoda by 0.388s with a time of a 1m12.360s.

Perez is joined in elimination by Bottas, Ocon - who has a five-place grid penalty - Hulkenberg and Zhou.

Albon goes fourth, which means Perez is OUT!

That's the second race in a row he won't get to Q2.

Piastri saves himself with a cracker of a lap - only 0.056s off Hamilton's time, which is about to be usurped by Verstappen.

Tsunoda follows the Dutchman into the top two as Sargeant goes into the top 10.

Magnussen goes back eighth, make that ninth as Leclerc goes sixth.

Bottas is 14th as Perez crosses the line - only 12th!

Hamilton joins Norris in the 1m12s as he goes top and Sainz into fourth.

The stewards opt not to investigate blocking on Piastri.

Sargeant is up to seventh as well - that's Piastri back into the bottom five.

Stroll is now second with team-mate Alonso third and Norris top. Tsunoda is fourth as the times tumble.

Piastri's traffic issue has been noted by the stewards as Gasly finds a second on his previous best effort to go second.

McLaren's Piastri could only find time to go 12th, as Ocon goes sixth.

It's hard to see how anyone outside the top four are save, in honesty.

That is underlined by Gasly, who goes purple in the first sector on his latest lap.

It was so decent that he decides to pit at the end of the lap... it will come down to the last effort for the Mexican.

That lap from Hamilton leaves Piastri, Perez, Gasly, Ocon and Zhou in the bottom five with just over five minutes to go.

Perez is on a decent lap though...

Replays show Piastri being badly hampered by both Hamilton and, in particular, Yuki Tsunoda through Turns 4 and 5.

A good lap from Hamilton on his original set of tyres to pop into third.

After all of that, Hamilton and Perez are in the bottom five, with Piastri also on the cusp.

The final eight minutes are set to be frantic.

Ricciardo has jumped to fifth and Stroll to third as Verstappen goes fastest now.

Russell has locked up and taken to the grass at Turn 3, whilst Stroll clouted the Wall of Champions but escaped unscathed.

Track evolution is the name of the game here. Norris back to the top with a 1m13.541s.

Albon is sixth, Sainz fourth and Hamilton eighth.

Russell is on a flier - a 1m14.012s is enough t go three-tenths up on Piastri, who slots into second.

Alonso also popped into the top three momentarily, only for Magnussen to go into second.

Sainz has thrown his first lap away with a moment down at Turn 1 as Stroll goes top of the pile. Bottas goes third and Ocon fifth.

Norris immediately beats the Red Bull with a 1m14.585s, some six-tenths up on Verstappen.

A car park forms down at the final chicane as Verstappen sets the first representative lap time with a 1m15.194s.

Only now do the two Mercedes drivers leave the garage... so no rain on the Brackley squad's radar for now?

Norris team radio: "Ok Lando, we have had reports of light drops from Turns 7 to 8..."

Two minutes until the lights go green but a queue is already forming at the end of the pitlane. This will be frantic!

Officially an 80% chance of rain across qualifying - the clouds have really rolled in across the past few minutes. The first few laps could be critical here.

Williams has been hard at work in-between sessions after Albon clouted the Wall of Champions near the end of FP3. The car does look as though it will be ready to go, though.

The drivers are in the garage ready for the start of qualifying, which is just over five minutes away. Let us know who you think will be on pole - either in the comments section, or on our social media pages!

But rain is threatening to hit the circuit at some point during qualifying. Dark clouds are forming and the wind is picking up, but it remains dry overhead for now.
