Raikkonen improves to initially push Russell into the drop zone, but the British driver fights back with his final lap in Q1 to edge clear in P14 by a little over one-tenth of a second.

Latifi is out of the drop zone in P12 with a really good lap in the Williams.

Into the last minute of Q1, so all or nothing on this lap for those out on the track. Schumacher has had a previous effort deleted for track limits at Turn 9.

Russell, who has demons to battle at Imola given his crash in the race last year, nips up to P14 with a 1m16.034s. That pushes Raikkonen into drop zone.

Right, into the do it or don't do it time in Q1 (or words to that effect). Schumacher, Latifi, Mazepin, Russell in the danger zone along with the side-lined Tsunoda.

Hamilton's second timed effort rewards him with second place thanks to his a 1m14.955s, while team-mate Bottas goes quicker again with a 1m14.672s.

Perez gets a second go at a timed lap and puts in an effort good enough for P5. That'll come as a small relief.

Bottas, fastest driver in FP1 and FP2, puts in a 1m14.926s to go fastest from Norris, Verstappen and Hamilton. Elsewhere lap time deletions for Gasly and Latifi.

Perez puts in a solid lap to go top but his time is deleted for exceeding track limits at Turn 9. He's still got plenty of time to give it another go but that'll put the pressure on the Red Bull driver.

As expected every driver heads out on to the track, well, every driver except Stroll, who currently tops the session with a 1m16.082s. A bold move?

And just like that, we are underway again. 12 minutes of Q1 to go with only five drivers to have set lap times before the red flag, so it is about to get busy. Double busy.

Tsunoda is out of the car and unharmed, which is really positive considering the amount of damage to the back of his F1 car. It looks a costly mistake from the F1 rookie.

Tsunoda has spun it at Variante Alta and has slapped it into the barriers. That has wrecked the entire rear-end of his AlphaTauri so further woe could follow, but he's definitely out of quali early.

Disaster for Yuki Tsunoda! He's crashed and that has caused an early red flag.

That lap has poked almost the entire grid to venture out on the track for the first time. Only the Red Bull duo and Latifi sticking to the comfort of the garages.

It is a short lap around Imola given the high speeds these current F1 cars produce, meaning Schumacher has already posted a 1m16.806s to top the very early running.

Haas pair Schumacher and Mazepin are the first drivers to head out in this 18-minute session which will see the bottom five drivers eliminated from qualifying.

Just the 21 lap times in total were deleted in FP3 alone this morning, so watch out for drivers being pinged for going too far wide at Turns 9 and 15.

Imola is arguably one of the most beautiful settings on the current F1 calendar, and the 3.05-mile track has proven to be a real test to all the drivers this weekend in terms of staying within the white lines.

The earlier risk of rain has reduced to a very precise 10% according to the F1 timing screen, so one of the teams might get a bit wet. That’s how it works, right?

The entire F1 paddock observes a one minute silence before qualifying to mark the death of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, whose funeral takes place later this afternoon at Windsor.

Verstappen's 1m14.958s gave him top spot in final practice by almost half a second from Norris, but we fully expect the gaps to be much tighter throughout qualifying.

We’ve got a little under 20 minutes until the start of Q1 for qualifying, so that gives us time to recap the key talking points from practice. Verstappen topped a busy FP3 punctuated by several incidents and a brief red flag for a crash by Latifi.

Good afternoon, how are we all doing? It is almost time for F1 qualifying at Imola and the sun is shining (for now). Like the sound of that?

Qualifying for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 1pm BST. Join us then to see if Verstappen can continue to be the man to beat.
Sebastian Vettel continued to adjust to his Aston Martin in P14, while Williams, Alfa Romeo and the Haas cars filled the final six spots.
Lance Stroll was the top Aston Martin runner in P12 just behind the angry Tsunoda, who was frustrated by traffic in the closing minutes.
Ricciardo ended the session in P13 with some margin to his faster team mate Norris.
It's pertinent to note that Gasly's time was on the medium tyre.
FP3 Top 10: Verstappen, Norris, Hamilton, Perez, Leclerc, Gasly, Sainz, Bottas, Alonso and Ocon.
Lewis Hamilton was the top Mercedes in third a further tenth back but ahead of the sister Red Bull of Sergio Perez, while Charles Leclerc completed the top five.
So Red Bull and Verstappen are on top heading into qualifying. McLaren's Lando Norris showed their pace in P2 but were some 0.4s shy of Verstappen.
Drivers are doing some practice starts before returning to the pits.
