Back-to-back improvements for Sainz, who is now fourth on a 1m21.255s. Busiest part of the first hour, this.
Vettel improves but it's only a couple of personal bests over the rest of the lap so he stays second, 0.417s back from Alonso with a 1m20.273s.
Ricciardo's uses those medium tyres to set a 1m22.356s and he's on a faster lap again.
Sainz now on a 1m21.857s, a tenth slower than Alonso's latest lap. Vettel doesn't improve next time by.

Alonso even quicker after a lap to calm down. He sets a 1m19.856s. That puts him 1.1s clear of Hamilton.
Definitely hypersofts on the McLaren. Boullier explained yesterday that it's not a performance thing, rather a need to get the tyres working quickly when they are planning testing things around short runs. Sometime a 10-lap or 12-lap stint isn't what they want to do, but that's what they'd need to have the tyres working properly.
Ocon improves again after besting Alonso's first sector. He's fourth on a 1m21.681s.
Alonso goes quickest! That looked like the hypersoft tyre on the McLaren. But we'll check next time by.
Ocon moves ahead of Ricciardo with his next improvement. He's now third on a 1m22.785s.
Ocon doesn't have the track to himself for long. Alonso's back out in the McLaren.
Leclerc pits as Ocon uses soft tyres to set a 1m23.893s and slot into fourth place.
Grosjean returns in the Haas. That leaves Leclerc and Ocon on track. We're more than half an hour into the day already. Just eight hours and 28 minutes to go.
A familiar sight this morning - a busy Mercedes running the mediums.

Stroll in the pits. (Insert joke like 'Not while there are cars about!')
Alonso brings the McLaren into the pitlane. At the other end, Ocon emerges again in the Force India.
Stroll shaves a couple of seconds off to move onto a 1m29.271s.
Supersoft tyres on the McLaren as Alonso kicks off his day with a lap 18.3s off the pace.

Leclerc onto what will hopefully be his first flying lap of the day, as Hamilton brings his Mercedes in.

Hamilton sets the fastest time so far through the first two sectors but he doesn't complete the lap at full speed and crosses the line 1.8s slower.
